The official name for this course is American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider. This BLS Class is for initial or renewing students and it also goes by a few other names such as AHA BLS, BCLS and BLS HCP. Students will learn: CPR for all ages, 2 person CPR, chokes-saving, defibrillator use, pocket mask, bag valve mask, and rescue breathing.

Who should attend this BLS training:
Anyone is the nursing field, San Jose dentists (CE credits from California Dental Board), physical and massage therapists, acupuncturists, paramedics, EMTs, medical assistants, phlebotomy students, lifeguards, people in the medical or healthcare field or people going into the medical or healthcare field. This course is for certification or renewal participants.

How can I be sure that this is the official AHA BLS Class?
This is a great question. Unfortunately in the San Jose area, there are a few companies that teach classes, which are not American Heart Association certified. I am sure you would not be pleased spending all day in a training class and then receiving your certification card which is not from the AHA.

Does this seem like a certified BLS training? You go to a website, pay $50, print out a card from your home computer. Does this sound too good to be true? It is. Please don’t get tricked by taking an online course. These scam companies trick innocent people in believing it is an official course and a real certification card. Do you think an official course would have no practice on mannequins, no reading, no instructor, no manuals, and no skills testing? Do it right the first time and take an official AHA BLS training course.

Basic Life Support Guide
Participants get the current version of the BLS guide after class.

English as a Second Language
The AHA courses are video based which means you will do fine even if English is your second language. The BLS instructors are very helpful and friendly and teach relaxed courses.

Young Ones in the Training
Please leave the children at home, since it is disruptive to have young children in the course.
